The first thing you need to do is to work out the wall brick number required for the entire project. On average you'll need about 60 bricks per square metre for a single skin wall. It's always a good idea to round up the wall brick count to make sure you have enough. Don't forget that the wall brick is quite likely to break badly on occasions so always buy more than you need

Even the smallest of jobs that use the wall brick will require a very solid foundation. The size and depth of the trench you need to dig depends on the height and width of your wall. A wall up to one metre in height requires a trench equal to half of that to be dug out.
